Privacy Policy

What information does the website collect?
I respect your privacy and believe in transparency and I hereby swear that I will only collect your name and email address when you’ve given explicit consent, such as when you have opted-in to receive my author Newsletter.
However, this website does use analytic tools by third parties (like cookies—a small bit of data sent from the website to your device) for the purpose of collecting data about such things as what type of web browser you use, as well as operating system and the domain name of your Internet service provider, which in turn may be used to improve your website experience. You can disable the cookies in your browser but doing so may affect the functionality of the website. (The data collected during such times will still be the minimum needed to fulfill its function.)
I will not share any of the above data with anyone else, unless required to by law. (It the case of a court order, or legal obligation.)
I will only use and retain your Personal Data for as long as required and/or am granted permission by you.
My website is aimed at adults and I don’t knowingly collect any Personal Data from anyone under the age of 18. If you are under age, come back when you’re older. I’d love to have you, but in the meantime, please do not provide me with your Personal Data, including your name and email address.
If you do opt-in to receive my newsletter, you will receive weekly (or sometimes just twice monthly) mailings where I highlight sales, new releases and other book recommendations. The data is stored securely by the mailing list host, Mad Mimi. Such mailing list providers also provide various link tracking software in order to better deliver campaigns to you. Each newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can unsubscribe at anytime. Once you unsubscribe, your data is removed from the system.
In regards to the EU General Data Protection Regulation, Lisa Blackwood Books is the ‘data controller’. But you have control over your Personal Data and can legally ask to:
  • See what data I have on you (which will be your first name and email address).
  • Changed or correct your data.
  • Restrict the way your data is processed.
  • Delete your personal data.
  • Withdraw your consent for me to use your Personal Data (as in unsubscribing from my newsletter etc).
  • Express concerns or ask about the privacy policies of 3rd parties (such as Mad Mimi newsletter hosting).
Please feel free to check back at anytime as this privacy policy is subject to change as laws do.
You can contact me anytime with concerns.
